Translation requirements are different depending upon use, it mean different services and different price levels. I am a native speaker of French and offer as a engineer & freelance translator following language pairs:

Main experience fields: I have a good knowledge of the paper manufacturing process. Working in second hand machinery for the paper industry has enabled me to be involved with various equipments, from pulp to finishing, including pulper and deinking, approach flow, headbox, wet part, press section, dryer section, size press, calanders, pope roller and drives as well as finishing equipments such as slitter rewinders, sheeters, ream wrappers, etc. It is thus a comprehensive view of paper technology. My other experience is paper converting, selling paper bag machines and cross cutters with tail end flexo presses worldwide, including USA, Canada, England and Australia, to converters in the flexible packaging business. Since we were manufacturing the paper bag machines, I have good experience with engineering and construction of mechanical machines . Beside this, I also had shorter experiences in instrumentation and pressure gauges as well as liquid ring vacuum pumps for the paper production. Before discussing your translation needs, it will be necessary to analyze your translation needs, why and for whom it is being translated. · For yourself ? · For your customer ? · For publication ? Translation tools: I work with translation tools . These are not translation softwares (softwares which allow a cheap and fast automated translation from a language to an other for specific needs). I work mainly with a translation software called Wordfast (if the customer does not specify any software). I also use Trados, Transit, SDLX and Across upon customer request. One could say that translation memories are tools which store all your translation work for future reference. This future reference can be within the same document, in which case the translator will check that the former translation is still valid and reuse it—a time and cost saving feature– but it will also allow to see which word had been used to translate as specific term of the customer 4 years ago — allowing a good constituency over time, an important quality feature. With few words, it will allow both to ensure quality and save time, to allow the customer to get a better quality at a lower price.
